Audiological Services

  • Our office offers age appropriate behavioral hearing tests tailored to your child’s needs. This includes Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) and Conditioned Play Audiometry (CPA), alongside conventional audiometry for older children.

  • Tympanometry helps measure how the ear drum is moving and offers clues about what is going on in the middle ear. Its a quick test that can detect fluid in the middle ear as well as ear drum perforations.

  • Some children have trouble focusing on their hearing test. We can schedule a special audiogram where more than one audiologist helps obtain reliable hearing results. Please request this when making your appointment and we are happy to accommodate.

  • Determining if a child can hear is a very important process. Hearing screens are usually performed at the birthing center, though a certain percentage may not pass on their first attempt. We can perform this test in our office, ideally in the first few months of your child's life.

  • An ABR tests the neurological capabilities of hearing. This is usually done when hearing loss is suspected or if a child repeatedly refers their newborn hearing screen. If your child is under 5 months old, this can be performed in office while they sleep.

  • Receiving a new hearing aid device can be life changing. We can help manage the device and fine tune it as needed.

  • Our office can fit your child for swim ear plugs, such as docs plugs, as well as noise canceling ear plugs. Great for summer adventures of all kinds!

Pediatric Audiology

Callie Adams is a Doctor of Audiology (AuD.) who has specialized in helping children with hearing tests, understanding hearing treatments, and working with pediatric hearing aid devices. Callie derives joy from her patients, whether it’s confirming a normal hearing test for a concerned parent or activating a cochlear implant for the first time. She is flexible and extremely knowledgeable in the best options tailored for children and teens alike.

Team Effort

Thanks to our smaller office, we are able to coordinate between audiology and pediatric ENT services with ease. Whether all findings are normal, or if we need a closer look at something, a physician is nearby to consult with. This makes it much easier to help streamline care for your child and make two stops into one visit.

What are Cochlear Implants?

A cochlear implant (CI) is a safe and effective medical device that allows children with profound sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) to hear and begin developing speech.

Our audiology team works closely with Dr. Andy Sipp to help care for children who receive cochlear implants. Placing a surgical hearing device involves coordinating between several institutions. Fortunately, we work closely with every leg of the journey to make the process as seamless as possible.

If your child has sensorineural hearing loss, Dr. Sipp and Callie Adams can help you navigate all the options and find solutions for your family.
